Invisalign Teen

Orthodontics For Your Child In Allen, KY

Dr. Boyd is so excited to offer Invisalign Teen! Invisalign Teen is a great alternative to traditional metal braces that allows you to correct your smile without having to feel self-conscious for class pictures or worry about broken wires poking you during soccer practice. These clear aligners are also removable so you can indulge in all your favorite treats without having to worry about breaking a wire. Simply remove your aligners to eat, drink, brush your teeth, floss and put them back when you are finished. These comfortable aligners don’t only go unnoticed by your friends, but are so comfortable you might forget about them too! Invisalign Teen allows you to continue being a kid while getting a healthy and beautiful smile.

What Does Invisalign Teen Treat?

The Invisalign System combines high-tech 3-D computer graphics technology with 100-year-old orthodontic science. Invisalign aligners will move your teeth to their final position prescribed by your orthodontist. Each aligner is calibrated and created to fit your individual and unique mouth at each stage of treatment. Each aligner is worn for about two weeks and only taken out to eat, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next set, your teeth will begin to move gradually. Invisalign Teen is beneficial to a wide variety of orthodontic issues:

  • Overly crowded teeth
  • Widely spaced teeth
  • Crossbite
  • Overbite
  • Underbite

How Does Invisalign Teen Work?

  • Wear each set of aligners for about two weeks before switching them out for your new set and gradually your teeth will move each week
  • Take your aligners out while eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing and replace them as soon as you are finished
  • Visit with Dr. Boyd every 8-10 weeks so we check on your progress and make sure things are going as planned
  • Our patients are usually in treatment for about 6-15 months and use between 18-30 aligners

What’s the Blue Dot For?

Invisalign Teen features a little blue dot on the left back molar of your aligners. This dot fades over time letting you know when your two weeks are up and it is time to change your aligners. It’s placed on the back molar so that it goes unnoticed but you can still see it when you remove your aligners as a friendly little reminder.
